Three people have been killed and at least four injured in a shooting in Los Angeles, the city’s fire department said Saturday. fourth mass shooting within a week.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call for help at 2:35 a.m. on a residential street northwest of downtown, a spokesperson said.
Rescuers found three dead and two injured, who were taken to hospital, firefighters said. Two others went to the hospital, said the spokesperson.
CNN affiliate KCAL said the shooting happened just outside of Beverly Hills in the community of Beverly Crest. Three victims were shot inside a car and four others while standing in front of a house.
Police said the first call was for an “assault with a deadly weapon”, the station reported.
The four people hospitalized are believed to be in critical condition, the station said.
It was the third mass shooting in California since January 21, when a gunman walked into a dance studio in Monterey Parkin the Los Angeles subway, and killed 11 people.
Seven people were killed on Monday farms in Half Moon Bay in northern California.
A few hours later, five people were shot Oakland. An 18-year-old man died.
