Wednesday is a first day of weather alert: snow on the way

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – FOX19 NOW Chief Meteorologist Steve Horstmeyer said another La Niña storm will arrive in all three states Wednesday morning, bringing snow, sleet and/or rain with it.

The type of precipitation you will see depends on how far you are north or south of Cincinnati.

Since the weather will affect the morning ride, Wednesday is a first weather alert day.

As the day progresses, temperatures warm above freezing, so after a slippery morning, the afternoon feels wet and muddy.

The winter storm watch will be in effect for the following counties from Tuesday evening through Wednesday afternoon:

  • Clermont and Hamilton Counties in Ohio
  • Boone, Campbell, and Kenton Counties in Kentucky
  • Dearborn, Ohio, Ripley, and Switzerland Counties in Indiana

The winter storm watch will be in effect from Tuesday evening until Wednesday evening for:

  • Butler, Clinton, and Warren Counties in Ohio

This will be the third flurry of snow to hit the Tri-State in as many days.

On Sunday, four to six inches of snow fell in most of the three states.

For the Bengals game in Kansas City, the weather will be cold until game day, then the city will be hit by an arctic explosion.
