Thoma Bravo and Vista Approach Sumo Logic About Possible Takeover

Private equity firms such as Thoma Bravo, Vista Equity Partners and Francisco Partners have approached data analytics software firm Sumo Logic to express interest in a possible acquisition, according to a person familiar with the matter. This adds Sumo to the current list of possible enterprise software takeover targets.

Thoma Bravo and Vista are among private equity firms that have recently embarked on a software-buying spree, taking advantage of low valuations to expand into an area that has long interested them. Thoma Bravo, for example, acquired Coupa Software, SailPoint and Anaplan for a total of $25 billion over the past year. The company recently raised more than $32 billion across multiple funds for new acquisitions.
