The Patriots have already added Bill O’Brien to their coaching staff and appear to be on the verge of adding another offensive assistant.

According to NFL Media’s Mike Giardi, New England have focused on Adrian Klemm to join their team.’s Albert Breer reported that the Patriots will be meeting Klemm for the second time.

Klemm just completed his first season as Oregon’s assistant head coach, running game coordinator and offensive line coach. Before that, he was with the Steelers from 2019 to 2021. He served as OL’s assistant coach from 2019 to 2020 and offensive line coach in 2021.

Klemm was a Patriots second-round pick in 2000 and played in 26 games with 10 starts for the club from 2000 to 2004. He then started eight games for Green Bay in 2005.

Giardi also notes that Klemm was making around $1 million as an assistant at Oregon, so the Patriots will have more expensive offensive personnel with O’Brien and presumably Klemm in tow.

Matt Patricia was New England’s offensive line coach and chief offensive playmaker last year. It’s unclear how he’ll be reassigned for 2023, assuming he stays with the Patriots.
