DETROIT – More snowfall is expected in the Detroit metro area on Wednesday, Friday and this weekend, but when will it arrive and how much will we get?
Good dose of snow on Wednesday
We are still on track to see some good snow accumulation on Wednesday. The arrival is expected as the morning drive draws to a close, with snow moving from south to north.
The heaviest snowfall is expected by midday. Widespread snow subsides in the evening after sunset, but a few flakes may linger here and there overnight.
We are currently expecting 2-5 inches, with lesser amounts to the northwest and higher amounts to the southeast.
More snow on Friday
Another system brings light accumulations of snow on Friday. Not as much as Wednesday, but a little more will add up.
A third system brings us another chance for snow on Sunday. Long-range models don’t quite agree on this, but it’s something to watch for sure.
Strong winds this week
With the first snow gun on Wednesday, we also see the return of gusty winds. Gusts will sometimes exceed 25 mph.
More gusty winds come from Friday to Saturday.
