Up to 5 inches of snow could fall in central Pennsylvania this week: forecasters

Between 3 and 5 inches of snow could accumulate across the middle of the state on Wednesday, forecasters said.

The National Weather Service forecast of snow before 1 p.m. Wednesday, followed by rain that could mix with flurries. Winds of over 20 mph are also possible throughout the day, forecasters said.

Forecasters said Wednesday’s snow showers would turn to rain only well before Thursday morning. Temperatures will peak in the upper 30s to low 40s this week, according to the NWS.

Before the snow, forecasters expected rain and winds of up to 30 mph on Monday. These showers could fall before 11 a.m., then again between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Forecasters said Tuesday will be sunny, but almost as windy.

Thursday and Friday are expected to be sunny, with highs above 30 degrees.
