PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A man in a wheelchair has died and two others were injured after suspects in a stolen vehicle crashed in Port Richmond.

Police said just after 9 p.m. Saturday night they were in pursuit of a stolen Cadillac Escalade.

While evading police, the stolen car slammed into two vehicles and struck a man in a wheelchair.

This happened on Aramingo and Castor Avenues in the Port Richmond section of the city.

The 38-year-old man in a wheelchair was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

A 27-year-old woman and an 11-year-old child were inside one of the vehicles involved in the crash.

They were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The four people in the stolen vehicle fled.

Chief Inspector DF Pace told Action News: “Three ran in one direction, and the 4th occupant ran in another direction. The officer chased the 4th individual whom he saw throwing balls from his pockets…”

Officers were able to nab the 4th suspect, 19 years old.

Police recovered three loaded guns from inside the Cadillac.

The other three suspects are still at large.

Police believe they are in their late teens.
