Blue Lock Manga Illustrator drawing illustration for Japan win FIFA World Cup – Interest

Yusuke Nomura draws Isagi with the caption: “A historic victory! Go get them, Japan!”

blue lock manga illustrator Yusuke Nomura is as thrilled as anyone to see the Japan team claim their first victory at the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday. Japan beat four-time World Cup champions Germany 2-1 in an upset win. To celebrate the historical upheaval, Nomura drew an illustration of blue lock protagonist Isagi roaring in victory with the caption: “A historic victory! Go get them, Japan!”

In August, Nomura collaborated with the World Cup to design the blue lock characters wearing Japan team uniform. Football manga creator Masaya Tsunamoto (giant murder) also participated in the promotion.

The story of blue lock takes place after Japan lost at the 2018 World Cup. In order to hone the talent that can stand on the world stage, the Japan Football Union brings together 300 of the brightest young forwards and pits them against each other in of a competitive training camp. Writer Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrator Yusuke Nomura launched the ongoing manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in August 2018. Kodansha comics publishes the manga in English in digital and printed form.

A television anime premiered on October 8 on Asahi Television and its affiliates in the “NUMAnimation” programming block. Crunchyroll streams the series as it airs.
