The arrival of summer means it’s time to start thinking of fun new ways to feed our kids between meals.
Here are some refreshing and nutritious options for youngsters to munch on during the warm summer months:
Frozen treats made with summer fruits
The items required:
1 sliced and peeled kiwifruit
1 diced peach
1/2 cup of pureed watermelon
1/4 cup of frozen or canned strawberry chunks
Blueberries, fresh, 1/2 cup
a handful of fresh, pitted cherries, diced
Get ready a dozen popsicle moulds and distribute the chopped fruit among them. Fill each popsicle mold all the way with watermelon puree. Insert a stick of popsicle into each and freeze until ready to serve, preferably 6-8 hours.
Each frozen mold may be easily removed from the freezer by placing it in a bowl of water that is warm for a few moments before serving.

Delicious & Nutritious Granola Bars
The items required:
1 Half a cup of almonds
1/2 lb. almonds
Half a cup of chocolate chips, sugar-free if possible.
Half a pound of pistachios
One-Thirtieth Cup Sukrin White Fiber Syrup
1/4 cup of cooked and chopped hemp seeds
14 cup of toasted, chopped pumpkin seeds
14 cup of toasted, chopped sunflower seeds
Sukrin Gold, 3 Tablespoons
1.5 sticks of butter
1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
Extract of Vanilla, One Teaspoonful
Salt, 1/2 teaspoon
In a sauce pan, melt the butter and stir in the Sukrin sugar syrup, Sukrin Gold, powdered cinnamon, vanilla essence, and salt until everything is well combined. Combine fully by stirring. Add all ingredients to a pot and bring to a boil. Add the cooked seeds and nuts and stir to combine.
Take the mixture off the stove and pour it into a 9×3 ovenproof dish prepared with parchment paper. Spread the mixture into the baking dish and smooth it up with another sheet of parchment paper. Refrigerate for 15 minutes after cooling for 10 minutes. Cut into bars and chill for a further 15 minutes.

Granola bars should be kept in a sealed airtight container.
Quick and Easy Apple Bars
The items required:
1 (either green or red) apple.
Add 2 tbsp. of peanut butter.
Sugar-free little chocolate chips are preferred.
Slice the apple into “circles” and remove the core. Peanut butter and chocolate chips are a delicious combination, so spread some on each apple slice. Repeat with each apple wedge. On a hot, sunny day, kids will appreciate it more if you chill it in the fridge for at least five minutes before serving.
It’s not hard to whip up some nutritious treats for the kids. They won’t want junk food as much if you provide them with tasty alternatives.
